This page is dedicated to our short weekend trip to northwest Florida. We flew to Panama City and stayed in one of waterfront hotels; one afternoon we made a short side trip to Destin. Both of these places are waterfront towns and vacation destinations known for miles of white– sand beaches fronting the calm, clear waters of Gulf of Mexico.

..and of course, like in all of other Florida’s waterfront towns, isolated thunderstorms and showers are always expected in afternoon time. So, it was a good opportunity to enjoy a couple of beach cocktails on the bar....

...and then the beach again....

Destin is a city in northwest Florida, in the area known as the Panhandle on the Emerald Coast, one of the most beautiful in the United States. It's known for its Gulf of Mexico beaches and many golf courses, as well as the Destin Harbor Boardwalk. Nature trails pass through the dunes of Henderson Beach State Park in the south, where the coastline is dotted with pine and oak trees sheltering wildlife

Destin is well recognized as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” due to its abundance of beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, and verdant golf courses. Most tourists that visit the Emerald Coast find many things to do in Destin.
